Me and my friend Stefan was going to fish after perch this October day. I hadn´t fish in this river, Löddeå for many years but I was hoping that I could fine some nice fish there they used to be several years ago.

We borrowed a boat from a friend at my work. Its much more easy to fish in this river from a boat. The weather wasnt so good, a bit windy with grey clouds in the sky. The rain wasn´t far away. But we both had a feeling that it didn´t matter.

The first two stopps we did wasn´t lucky. Not a single bite. Some other fishermen hadn´t felt a bite either so we decided to do a long movement downstream to a well knowned place. There was already two boats here but we decided to try anyway. After 15 minutes we hadnt had anything and one of the boats left. Just when that boat was out of sight my rod suddenly had a nice bend. Hooked fish !

I felt at once that it was a perch and up comes a beautiful perch. Nice one was the word and it weight 1,490 kg. My second biggest perch ever. Not bad at all. Now we began to feel lots of fish. The jigs was bumping over ide and breams and a wrong hooked bream was soon in the net. About 1 kilo it weight.

Its a very common thing to hook the jigs wrong in the side of ide and bream because there is SO many fish in the river in this time of the year. They all gonna spend the winter in this river. After a little coffee break we move more downstream with nothing as result. And we decided to do one more stop upstreams before we quit for the day.

We asked some other fishermen if they had caught anything and they all said no. The only fish caught so far was mine 1,490 kg perch ! We passed another boat not far from where we would try to fish. They seemed to be very happy and was laughing and talking rather loud but they hadnt caught anything. We stopped and in the first cast, BAM ! Hooked fish. The fish was fighting hard and I knew it was a big perch. After a while the fish gave up and up in the boat came my biggest perch ever. It weight 1,620 kg. We had a couple more perch and Stefan caught his first Löddeå perch ever. A fine fish about 1 kilo.

After a while I had another very hard bite on the jig. This fish wasnt fighting like a perch at all. I soon understood that it could be a bream. The fish was fighting very hard and was swimming round and round our boat. After 5 minutes I could land a nice common bream for 3,500 kilo! That fish was also a personal record when it was caught.

The other fishermen were starring at us and shaking their heads like "why don´t we catch anything". After that last fish the clock was getting a bit late, I began to work at the afternoon that day, so we had to leave. And as soon we started the boatengine we saw the other fishermen started to move their boat right at the spot were we had fished! That´s how it is to fish in Löddeå. It happens everytime lol.
